MORRISONS LITTLE LIBRARY

In April 2021, Morrisons supermarket committed to supporting free books for children across the UK by delivering a book exchange unit in all of its 497 stores. This initiative, devised by Rebecca Smith, supported by Professor Teresa Cremin & the Open University and delivered by Morrisons, provides free access to a steady stream of children’s books via the convenience of the supermarket setting.

Morrisons are committed to continuing to deliver the Little Library nationwide and to supporting children’s literacy in their stores.

Doorstep Carols is a nationwide Christmas Carols singalong. Doorstep Carols 2020-2022 was delivered across the BBC Local Radio network . With all resources available to download for free online at www.doorstepcarols.co.uk, anyone can tune in and join in.

Doorstep Carols was devised as a way to combat loneliness and isolation at Christmas, creating links with care homes and children’s hospitals, even prisons and the overseas armed forces to provide those separated from loved ones the ability to sing together at Christmas.

From 2020-2022 Doorstep Carols has united the nation in song raising awareness about the social and physiological power of collective music.
